Tactical Intervention, Spritiual Successor to Counter-Strike Closed Beta Application
Counter-Strike has been around for ages. Love it or hate it, it’s a game most gamers from the late 90s and early 2000s have played at least once in their lives. It’s been consistently featured in major gaming tournaments such as WCG, and with the upcoming CS: GO in the works, it doesn’t look like CS will die off any time soon despite the popularity of the Call of Duty and Battlefield franchises. But, it may get another tough competitor – Tactical Intervention.
The gameplay and graphics of Tactical Intervention may feel somewhat familiar to CS fans and there is a good reason for it. The man behind Tactical Intervention is Minh Le or “Gooseman”, one of the two original creators of the Counter-Strike mod in the original Half-Life game.
Judging from the trailer, Tactical Intervention seems to be designed to take the CS concept one step further by implementing more features such as driving (which was somewhat present in CS Beta but was removed after Source) and more chaotic, urban environment with innocent bystanders running for cover.
Tactical Intervention is going into closed beta next month and if you’re interested to check it out, just head on over to www.tactical-intervention.com and apply!
